Scanlet is a document scanner for iPhone and iPad. Scan papers, receipts and ID cards into clean, searchable PDFs, find any scan by the words inside it, sign it, and send it at the size the form asks for.

A camera that finds the page
Scanlet's own camera outlines the page live as you aim. It takes the shot only when you tap the shutter or, with automatic capture on, by itself once the page holds still. The flash is one tap away.
Check the pages, then save
Look over what you shot and retake a blurry page before anything is saved. There is no page limit, so a forty-page contract is still one document, in the right order.
ID cards, both sides on one page
ID card mode shows a card-shaped guide, takes the front and then the back, and puts both sides on one A4 page at their real size, ready to print or send.
Import photos and files
Bring in photos from your library, or PDFs and images from Files. Scanlet finds the page in each one and crops it for you.
Pages that are easy to read
Enhance, from low to high, turns the paper white, lifts shadows, makes the ink dark and sharp, and cleans up shots taken in poor light. Choose colour, greyscale or black & white.
Edit without losing the original
Crop with corner handles, rotate, reorder, add or delete pages whenever you like. Edits never overwrite the scan itself, so you can always change your mind.
Image to text, on your iPhone
Text is recognised on the device, in the background, right after you scan, in the language you pick or one detected automatically. Read it as paragraphs or line by line, then copy, share or translate it.
Find any scan by its words
Search the whole library by the words inside your documents, or search one document and see every match highlighted on the page. The PDFs you export are searchable too.
Export at the size the form wants
PDF, JPG, PNG or plain text, from small enough for an email or an upload limit to print quality at 300 dpi, on A4, US Letter, US Legal or fitted to the scan. Save an export as a favourite and repeat it in one tap.
Sign, lock and protect
With Scanlet Pro, draw your signature once and place it on any page, lock single documents or the whole app with Face ID, and protect a PDF with a password before you send it.
Organised, and on all your devices
Folders, favourites, sorting, grid or list, plus merge, extract and duplicate. iCloud Sync keeps your iPhone and iPad in step through your private iCloud, and Recently Deleted keeps removed documents for 7, 30 or 90 days.
Always one tap away
Start a scan from a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, Control Center, Siri and Shortcuts, or a long press on the app icon, and find any scan in iPhone Search by the words inside it. The Tools tab keeps every tool in one place.
How to get a good scan
- Put the page on something that contrasts with it, such as white paper on a dark table. That edge is what the camera's page outline is looking for.
- Keep your own shadow off the page. Light from the side beats standing over it with a window behind you. Enhance cleans up a light shadow, but it cannot bring back text hidden in a dark one.
- Hold the phone square to the page rather than at an angle. Perspective correction can only do so much with a badly skewed shot.
- Check each page in the review before you save. Retaking one page now is much quicker than finding out it was unreadable after you sent it.
Where your documents go
Your documents are stored on your device. With iCloud Sync on, they also sync through your private iCloud to your iPhone and iPad, where only you can see them, not us. You can turn sync off in Settings and keep everything on one device, and there is no account to create.
Text recognition and AI summaries run on your device. Your documents are not sent to us or to any AI service to read or summarise them.
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Before any ad, Apple's tracking prompt asks whether you allow tracking, and in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland Google's consent form then lets you choose how your data is used for ads. Scanlet Pro removes the ads. Usage statistics and crash reports go to our own analytics server, and never include the content of your documents, their names or what you search for.
